Explore The World of Fife And Drum

history in action

The first shots fired in the beginning of the Revolutionary War were not in Concord, Massachusetts, but in New Castle, New Hampshire. When the good people of Portsmouth marched to Fort William and Mary to seize 100 barrels of gun powder and numerous cannons to aid in the defense of New Hampshire it was to a drum beat.

When you listen to the rhythm of the drums, you can hear the beat of our founding fathers.
